We’d actually wanted to move away from WeTransfer for a while. Not just because sending loose links back and forth had become unwieldy, but also because of recent changes to their terms of service around using files to train AI, something we weren’t comfortable with given the confidential material clients entrust to us. We found a good alternative in Framehub. Once we’d switched, it quickly became clear we could move the rest of our workflow there too, and we were eventually able to say goodbye to Vimeo and Dropbox as well.
You don’t need to create an account, which also makes it easier to send us material. Instead of using a separate file transfer tool yourself, you get a link from us where you can upload everything needed for the edit. Once the project is finished, we deliver a neat package through Framehub with all the files collected in one place.
We can also export feedback and revision markers directly into our editing software, so there’s never any doubt about which shot a comment refers to. That speeds up the revision round considerably and leaves us more time for the work that actually matters: the story and the quality. We’re also careful with the footage clients entrust to us, often unreleased and sometimes sensitive: Framehub hosts within the EU and never uses files to train AI models. Privacy and data security are a high priority for us.
